...HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR SOUTH FACING SHORES OF ALL HAWAIIAN ISLANDS...

.Tradewind swell and swell from Hurricane Sergio will produce elevated surf along east facing shores. The surf will gradually decrease through Friday. A swell from the southern hemisphere will produce large surf along south facing shores. This surf will peak today, then slowly subside through Saturday.

...HIGH SURF ADVISORY UNTIL 6 PM HST THIS EVENING FOR SOUTH FACING SHORES OF ALL ISLANDS AND EAST FACING SHORES OF THE BIG ISLAND MAUI MOLOKAI OAHU AND KAUAI...

* SURF...6 to 10 feet along south facing shores of all Hawaiian Islands. 5 to 8 feet along east facing shores of the Big Island, Maui, Molokai, Oahu and Kauai.

* TIMING...The south swell will peak today, then slowly decrease tonight through Saturday. East swell will gradually decline through Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Moderate...Expect strong breaking waves, shore break, and strong currents making swimming dangerous.
Description:

A High Surf Advisory is issued when waves reach threshold criteria for a particular island and shoreline.

Instruction:
Heed all advice from ocean safety officials and exercise caution.

Unmonitored lands and waters in the impact area described in the alert will also be impacted.

If conditions change before expiration or the event needs to be extended, an update or cancellation will be issued from Hawaii Beach Safety Website.
