Effective: Tuesday, March 13, 2018 - 3:45am to Wednesday, March 14, 2018 - 6:00am

Alert:
...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM HST WEDNESDAY...

* WINDS...Southwest 30 to 50 mph with localized gusts over 60 mph.

* TIMING...Through tonight.

* IMPACTS...Motorists, especially those in high profile vehicles, are urged to drive with extreme caution. Travel to the summits of Mauna Kea and Mauna Loa is not advised due to strong winds and snowfall.
Description:

A Wind Advisory is issued when sustained winds of 30 to 39 mph and/or frequent gusts to 50 mph or greater are occurring or imminent.

Instruction:
A Wind Advisory for the summits means that sustained winds of at least 45 mph, or gusts of at least 55 mph, are expected. Motorists should use extra caution.
Affected Monitored Beaches:

Unmonitored lands and waters in the impact area described in the alert will also be impacted.

If conditions change before expiration or the event needs to be extended, an update or cancellation will be issued from Hawaii Beach Safety Website.
