Flood Advisory
Effective: Wednesday, February 14, 2018 - 2:22am to 5:15am
Alert:
The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a
* Flood advisory for... The island of Oahu in Honolulu County
* Until 515 AM HST
* At 220 AM HST, radar showed clusters of moderate to heavy showers moving over Oahu from the south, with rainfall rates around one inch per hour in the heaviest showers.
* Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to... leeward Oahu from Makaha to Kapolei to Pearl City, as well as Honolulu, and portions of windward Oahu from Kahaluu to Waimanalo. This advisory may need to be extended beyond 515 AM HST if heavy rain persists. This advisory replaces the previously issued advisory that was in effect for portions of the island of Oahu in Honolulu County. A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect.

Description:
A Flood Advisory, previously called an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory, means nuisance flooding is occurring or imminent.
Instruction:
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to
flooding.
Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.
Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on
foot. Turn around, don`t drown.
