* Flood advisory for... The island of Maui in Maui County
* Until 600 PM HST
* At 303 PM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over the slopes of the West Maui Mountains. Stream gage data also showed water levels rising in some of the West Maui streams. Periods of heavy rainfall may continue for a few more hours.
* Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to... Kahului, Kapalua, Honokohau, Kahakuloa, Waikapu, Lahaina, Wailuku, Waiehu, Olowalu, Maalaea, Waihee and Kaanapali. This advisory may need to be extended beyond 600 PM HST if heavy rain persists.
A Flood Advisory, previously called an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory, means nuisance flooding is occurring or imminent.
Unmonitored lands and waters in the impact area described in the alert will also be impacted.
If conditions change before expiration or the event needs to be extended, an update or cancellation will be issued from Hawaii Beach Safety Website.
