* Flood advisory for... The island of Hawaii in Hawaii County
* Until 800 AM HST.
*At 450 AM HST, radar indicated periods of heavy rain falling across eastern Big Island, east of Honokaa and south of Hilo across the Puna and Kau districts. Rain was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Additional heavy showers are detected approaching the Kau and Puna coasts.
* Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to... Hilo, Orchidlands Estates, Hakalau, Keaau, Hawaiian Paradise Park, Kawa Flats, Pahoa, Glenwood and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Naalehu. This advisory may need to be extended beyond 800 AM HST if heavy rain persists.
A Flood Advisory, previously called an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory, means nuisance flooding is occurring or imminent.
Unmonitored lands and waters in the impact area described in the alert will also be impacted.
